1. What items are needed while in detention?

Shampoo and deodorant in clear containers, white thermal underwear, prescription medication, stamps and envelopes.

2. Can I receive or make phone calls?

Juveniles can receive one five minute phone call a day from parents and legal guardians only.

3. How long can I be held in detention until I go to court?

A juvenile has the right to a detention hearing within 48 hours of being arrested, not counting weekends or holidays, and an adjudication hearing within 21 days.

4. Who can visit a juvenile in custody?

Parents and legal guardians only.

5. Can my clergy visit me in detention?

Clergy can visit with a valid picture ID and prior approval by your parent or legal guardian.
