Remembering Former Supervisor Floyd Robertson

Floyd Robertson

It is with sadness the DeSoto County Supervisors announce the death of former Supervisor Floyd Robertson.  He died Sunday, June 14 at the age of 83.

Robertson served on the Board of Supervisors from 1975 until his retirement on January 1, 1988.  He spent many years in public service: Justice of the Peace 1960-1968, Rubbish Pit Supervisors 1991-1992, and Veteran Services Officer 2008-2009.

He was also a very proud member of the Marine Corp League and a great supporter of the county’s USMC-JROTC program.

His wife Joan is still serving DeSoto County as Planning Commissioner. He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed by many.

The Board of Supervisors sends condolences to the Robertson family.
