Mississippi Updates Driver's License Information

Driver's License Expiration Dates Extended

Driver’s License Stations are still closed in Mississippi.  No date has been released on when they will reopen.

Here is information you need to know about licensing during this closure.

  • The Mississippi Department of Public Safety extended the deadline to renew expired licenses.  If your license expires between March 13 and June 30, it now expires on August 3.  Some Licenses can be renewed online. Click here for online license and ID renewals
  • This applies to all valid driver’s licenses, learner’s permits, intermediate licenses, firearm permits, security guard permits, and ID cards.  People/teens with learner’s permits must wait until the Driver’s License Stations reopen to take the driving test.
  • People who moved into the state during the same time period will also receive a grace period for obtaining a new license.
  • ALL Commercial Driver License (CDL) transactions, including testing, is being conducted at the 9 Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop Stations.
