DeSoto County Creates New Recreational District

Recently, the DeSoto County Board of Supervisors voted to create a countywide Parks & Recreational district. A seven-member county recreational district board of commissioners will oversee the parks and greenways system.

The recreational district integrates the Greenways and Parks into the county's governmental operations while maintaining a public-private partnership with the DeSoto County Economic Council.
